This adorable little guy is Jack. He was just six days old when I had the pleasure of meeting him and capturing his cuteness with my camera.
I’ve photographed Jack’s family before and knew that they had a backyard that is perfect for portraits. It was a hot day, so we were able to do some outdoor photos as well as indoor ones.
Jack’s mother is the creative lady behind The Portage Trail Barn and we’d incorporated metal buckets into some business portraits of her at her request, so we decided to photograph baby Jack in one instead of a basket or other more traditional prop. The outdoor setting will make Jack’s newborn photos fit in well with the family’s portraits from the fall.
The baby was kind enough to model a few hats I’d crocheted recently. He’s snuggled up inside a cotton blanket I crocheted specifically with baby photos in mind. The cotton yarn makes it durable and easy to wash, and I love the texture of this stitch.
I hope you enjoyed this introduction to Jack. I’m still editing his session, so you may be seeing more of him and his family.
